An Cala is a traditional Islay cottage on two floors, providing guests with a quietly stylish base for your exploration of the many pleasures of the Isle of Islay.
Downstairs is a spacious, comfortable sitting room with an open fire, television, a piano and lots of books and art for visitors to enjoy.

A cosy corner of the livingroom. Guests may light the open fire, always using the fireguard provided. |

For visitors who don't wish to cook at all, the Port Charlotte Hotel or the Loch Indaal Hotel, both merely a short walk along the road from An Cala, offer excellent alternatives for lunches, bar meals, dinners or a bolthole for a quick dram ! |
An Cala has an equally spacious kitchen/dining room which is the hub of the house, and home of the oil-fired Esse range. The range provides constant hot water and runs the heating radiators.
The Esse requires no attention whatsoever, and guests are welcome to cook on its hob and use the oven. There is also an electric cooker with fan oven and grill, and a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.

Upstairs, the accommodation comprises three bedrooms; two double bedrooms, a family bathroom, and one bedroom with twin beds and an en-suite bathroom, sleeping six people in total. Two of the bedrooms look out over the sea, and settling to sleep with the sounds of the sea is one of many pleasant features of the An Cala experience.
